1999. “The Best Of Grace Slick”.

I wrote two of the songs with Grace on this compilation album.
“Hyperdrive” and “Better Lying Down”. I wrote the music and Grace the lyrics.
I also played on a few of the other tracks on the CD. Grace had an amazing stage presence when we played together in Jefferson Starship; especially in the 1970’s.
She would just walk to the front of the stage and the audience would go wild.
She is also a very talented blues singer…although Grace doesn’t see herself that way. Listen to her blues licks on “Better Lying Down” (put my name into YouTube and your will see a black & white film taken by “Bill Graham Presents” of Grace & me performing the song at Winterland in 1975).
I treasure the many years we played together. She mostly concentrates on her artwork these days…and regularly shows in galleries across the US.
We are still in communication with each other and she is generally regarded, along with Janis Joplin as one of the icons of 1960’s, 70’s rock n roll. — with Grace Slick.
