John Kahn of the Jerry Garcia Band was the musical arranger…he tragically passed away soon after finishing the record.
He loved working on the project and was full of enthusiasm about working as a musical arranger.
Bob Mathews and I became friends when Bob and Betty Cantor-Jackson engineered a “Stoneground” album at Trident Studios in London in 1970. Although it was never released, I consider it way more representative of the band than the one that was recorded in Los Angeles and released the following year.
