Pete Sears Plays With Louisiana Love Act

Louisiana Love Act is a New Orleans inspired nit­ty grit­ty Blues, Rock & Soul band found­ed by singer/songwriter Phil Colom­bat­to in New Orleans, La in col­lab­o­ra­tion with John Fohl (Dr.John & The Low­er 911), bassist Sam Price (The Island Swamp Band) drum­mer Der­rick Free­man (Ker­mit Ruffins & the BBQ swingers, trum­peter Wen­dell Brunious (Preser­va­tion Hall Jazz Band) pianist Nel­son Lund­ing, and oth­er local greats.

In 2016 after play­ing a west coast run togeth­er with drum­mer Greg Anton, (Bay Area nov­el­ist, attorney/activist, and found­ing mem­ber of the icon­ic Cal­i­for­nia jam band Zero) the two began col­lab­o­ra­tion on a new record of orig­i­nal mate­r­i­al writ­ten by Colom­bat­to, Anton, and Grate­ful Dead/Zero/Dinosaurs lyri­cist Robert Hunter, set for release in June 2017. Top­ping it all off are 4 piece horn sec­tion arrange­ments com­posed by the pro­lif­ic New Orleans sax­o­phon­ist Jason Min­gle­dorff (vet­er­an Louisiana Love Act col­lab­o­ra­tor cur­rent­ly play­ing Bari­tone Sax with St. Paul & the Bro­ken Bones) Oth­er con­trib­u­tors to the new record or the road include Robin Sylvester (Rat­dog) Pete Sears (Hot Tuna) Ivan Neville (Dump­sta­phunk) Steve Kimock (Zero) Mark Karan (Rat­dog) and the leg­endary B3ist Melvin Seals (Jer­ry Gar­cia Band).

Louisiana Love Act will be mak­ing there debut per­for­mance at The Mint with spe­cial guest gui­tarist Jim­my Vivi­no (J.V. & The Black Italians/The Fab Faux) LLA bring a par­ty and a boat­load of soul to every show.
